Tocar La Guitarra - Liner Notes

Last year, I announced the 2008 relase of a new Z-Train album entitled Cones of Cappodocia. The album is already behind schedule, but last night as I listened to the tracks, I realized that I need even more time in the studio to complete it. So I wanted to give y'all something to make up for the dealy. Hence, this release.

Tocar La Guitarra is Spanish for "play the guitar" (i think). This release is a compilation of some of my favorite guitar tunes from previous Z-Train albums. I designed the cover several years ago for an album that didn't exist. Well, the cover has finally found some music to rep.

As I write these liner notes and create this compilation, the planet Mercury is currently in retrograde motion. That means it's now time of retrospection, a time to take stock of things that have been in order to figure out where things are going.

The songs on Tocar are strong original works. I'm proud of these tunes and the people who play on them, because they represent a quality and direction that I hope to continue.
